Breakthrough NTU nanophotonic technology to revolutionise information and communications technology industry
31-Oct-2006
An NTU research team has developed a nanophotonic technology which could increase data transmission speeds by up to 1.000 times. Led by Assoc Prof Liu Ai Qun from NTU's School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the research team hopes to build a "nanophotonic circuit" made up entirely of optical components instead of electrical components. It is also looking for a partner from industry to commercialise the technology.
