In an interview with Channel Newsasia, Mr Loh Pui Wah, Director CAO, said that NTU is actively helping its graduating students secure jobs. He added that CAO is approaching companies such as new and emerging industries that traditionally do not hire fresh graduates. They are also targeting the SMEs and aggressively going out to them to discuss employment opportunities and inviting them to NTU. The news report also mentioned that according to an NUS survey, most firms such as those in the manufacturing, finance, transport and the public sector are still hiring fresh graduates despite widespread hiring freezes. Some SMU students are delaying their graduation to explore more internships, while more have gone to career service centres for advice.
