More top Chinese officials are attending NTU's Master of Science in Managerial Economics (MME) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programmes, with this year’s combined intake being the largest ever at NTU since the inception of the programmes in 1998 and 2005 respectively.
The two highly regarded China-focused master’s programmes have enrolled a total of 142 government officials from China in March 2009, surpassing last year’s enrolment of 128 participants. This is the largest number of senior officials from the same country pursuing postgraduate studies in Singapore. The 57 MME and 85 MPA participants represent the cream of China’s public sector, and comprise vice-mayors, chiefs and divisional directors of government departments from Chinese provinces and municipals such as Chongqing, Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Guangxi, Guangdong, Liaoning, Huai’an City of Jiangsu, and Panjin City of Liaoning.
