NTU has teamed up with the world-famous Imperial College London to set up a new medical school in Singapore. The Straits Times looks at the ambitious plans for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and how it aims to create doctors who put their patients first. When the school opens its doors in two years, it will have simulated operating theatres, robotic and telesurgery suites, and the best in e-learning, to equip students with all the medical skills the latest technology can impart. But at its heart, the curriculum aims to put service back into medicine, producing doctors people want to be treated by.
