NTU opens The Wave, a mega sports hall built using sustainable technologies

Published on : 25-Apr-2017

NTU Singapore unveiled its new sports hall named The Wave, the first large-scale building in Southeast Asia built using an innovative timber construction technology. Using mass engineered timber, it provides five times better heat insulation than concrete and can support a continuous 72-metre wave-like roof without the need for internal columns. This opens up a cavernous three-storey space with no pillars inside. A showpiece of innovative technologies, its host of eco features saves over 40 per cent energy.
