NTU Singapore scientists develop probes to detect acute kidney failure early

Published on : 12-Jul-2019

NTU scientists developed a type of molecular imaging probe that can detect the onset of acute renal failure. The renal probe can detect changes in the body at the biological level, and 'lights up' when it detects and binds to biomarkers that indicate the onset of the disease. As the probe has a high renal clearancce efficiency, it can be used directly in urine samples.
